I’m John Robinson, a certified veterinary assistant and lifelong cat owner. I share my home with 10 cats of my own and have fostered for eight rescue organizations throughout my career.

When I visit your home, your cat stays in her own environment, on her own schedule, cared for by someone who genuinely understands feline behavior, not a marketplace stranger, but a local professional with verifiable credentials and decades of hands-on animal care experience.

Cats don’t travel well, and they don’t adapt quickly. The best thing you can do for your cat while you’re away is keep her world as normal as possible. That’s exactly what in-home cat sitting does.

Why Your Cat Is Happier at Home

Cats are creatures of habit. Their home territory is their comfort zone, with familiar smells, routines, and favorite spots. When you disrupt that by putting them in a boarding facility or cattery, it can take days for even a confident cat to settle. Shy or anxious cats may not settle at all.

With in-home cat sitting, your cat stays exactly where they’re comfortable: own home, own furniture, own feeding schedule. I come to them and meet them on their own terms. The only thing that changes is that someone who loves cats shows up to keep them company, serve food, scoop the box, and spend some quality time, all on their terms.

Cat Sitting FAQs

Does my cat need to be social for this to work?

Not at all. I work with cats of every temperament, from the ones who greet me at the door to the ones who spend the first visit watching from the top of the fridge. I let your cat set the pace, and I never force interaction. Many shy cats come around by the second or third visit once they realize I’m not a threat.

Can you give my cat insulin or other injections?

Yes. I’m a certified veterinary assistant and I’m experienced and comfortable with injectable medications, including insulin. There is no extra charge for medication administration. It’s included in the standard visit rate.

How will I know how my cat is doing while I’m away?

I provide visit updates so you’re never left wondering. You’ll know your cat was seen, what she ate, and how she seemed. If anything appears off medically or behaviorally, I’ll let you know right away.

Do you do overnight stays?

I currently offer daytime visits only (30, 45, or 60 minutes). For most cats, one or two good visits per day is plenty. They’re usually sleeping the rest of the time anyway. If your cat requires more frequent check-ins due to a health condition, we can discuss a customized schedule.

How does the first visit work?

We start with a free in-home consultation. This gives me a chance to meet your cat, go over her routine and any medical needs, get a key, and answer your questions. It also gives your cat a chance to meet me before you leave, which makes the transition much smoother.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry full professional liability insurance for every visit. I’m certified in pet first aid.
